Gordon Henderson MP visited Little Potters last week to join a number of mums and young children to enjoy a cup of coffee and a cookie in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Little Potters, located at the Central Stadium on the Eurolink Industrial Estate in Sittingbourne, houses a pottery and painting studio, café and soft play area as well as the Matthew Vickery Photography studio.

Mr Henderson toured the facilities and spoke to the owner, Sasha Ibrahim, about the activities on offer and how Little Potters could work with Litter Angels, a local charity set up by Mr Henderson, to educate young children about the affects of litter on the environment.

Sasha Ibrahim said,

“It was a lovely day and we raised £230 for MacMillan. Thanks to all our customers and Gordon Henderson for his support and we look forward to getting involved and supporting Litter Angels.”

Mr Henderson added,

“I was impressed with the activities on offer at Little Potters and what excellent value they represented for the money charged.

“It is great venue and an ideal place for parents to take their children for an inexpensive outing, particularly on a rainy day.

“Sasha is keen to work with Litter Angels to help promote environmental issues and improve our local community. To kick off that co-operation we have decided that this year Litter Angels will be using Little Potters as a base for judging our annual anti-litter poster competition.

“The entrants will be displayed in Little Potters and local people will be invited to visit the centre and cast a vote for their favourite poster.

“As in previous years the winning entry will be displayed in the carparks of our local McDonalds restaurants.”

The posters designed by the children taking part in the Litter Angels 2013 competition will be on display at Little Potters from Monday 4th – Friday 15th November 2013.

Details of the winners presentation evening will be announced at a later date.
