MP supports Cabinet Office Business Task Force

Local MP, Gordon Henderson is supporting a new Cabinet Office Business Task Force on Cutting Red Tape which is being set up, and is calling on local charities, social enterprises and voluntary organisations to let the Task Force know about burdens that affect them.

The joint Cabinet Office and Department for Business, Innovation and Skills Task Force is part of the commitment by the Coalition Government for structural reform. Its purpose is to investigate and recommend measures to reduce bureaucracy on small organisations which will become a vital tool in achieving the Government’s aim to make it easier to run voluntary organisations.
Mr Henderson said:

“Charities and voluntary organisations are the cement that often builds our local communities together.

“I know from working with local voluntary organisations for many years that one of their biggest gripes is the burden of bureaucracy that deters volunteers from coming forward.

“I support this Government initiative to cut down on red tape and would urge local charities and voluntary organisations to contact the new Task Force and let them know about the many problems they face.”
