MP meets Police and Crime Commissioner

Gordon Henderson MP has met with Ann Barnes, the new Police and Crime Commissioner, for the first time since she was elected in November 2012.

Mr Henderson visited the Kent Police Headquarters in Maidstone to discuss her policies and how they will affect those living in Sittingbourne and Sheppey, particularly following the recent increase in burglaries in the area.

Mr Henderson said,

“"I wanted to meet Mrs Barnes because as the PCC for Kent she has an important role to play in tackling crime in Sittingbourne and Sheppey.

"I already have regular meetings with the Chief Constable and the divisional commander for our area, Chief Superintendant Neil Jerome, at which we are able to discuss policing in the constituency and I want to work equally as closely with Mrs Barnes."
