E-petition to cut VAT on fuel for Air Ambulances

30th March 2012
E-petition to cut VAT on fuel for Air Ambulances
An e-petition created to abolish VAT on fuel for air ambulances is being supported by Gordon Henderson MP.
The e-petition, which has received over 125,000 signatures, urges the Government to abolish VAT on fuel by providing the air ambulance with grants to cover the cost. This is already being done for the Lifeboat Service.
The Air Ambulance Service provides an essential service in order to attend accidents quickly, which an ambulance on the ground might be unable to reach, in an effort to save lives.
Mr Henderson is calling on his constituents to support the e-petition by adding their signatures on the following link:
Mr Henderson said,
"With the rising cost of fuel in the UK, an important voluntary service which saves lives, such as the Air Ambulance Service, should not be expected to pay VAT and so I encourage my constituents to support this e-petition”
