MP helps archery club to target new members

Gordon Henderson MP took aim last week at a suitably placed target as he tried his hand at archery when he visited the Queenborough Archery Club.

The Club, based at the Isle of Sheppey Academy (West Site), has been running for 7 years and is looking to target new members to join in their controlled activity in a friendly atmosphere.

Vincent Telford, one of the Club coaches, said,

"Queenborough Archers would like to thank Gordon Henderson for his visit and officially opening the club at the new venue. The club members enjoyed the opportunity to talk to our local MP and to tell him why they enjoyed the sport of archery.

“The club would also like to thank the Isle of Sheppey Academy for their help in facilitating the move to the new hall and we hope to be able to work closely with the school in the future.”

Mr Henderson said,

“I found the Club to be very welcoming and well controlled. Coaches were on hand to tell me everything I need to know and I even hit the target!

“The Club has great facilities at the Academy and I hope they get a number of new members as they cater for all ages and abilities.”
