Boundary Commission Parliamentary Review

You may be aware that Government is reducing the number of Members of Parliament across the UK from 650 to 600. This change is due to take place in 2018, in time for the General Election in 2020. This work is being led by the Boundary Commission and they have published their initial proposals which see a net loss of one Member of Parliament in Kent. I am pleased, however, the Commission is not proposing any change to Sittingbourne and Sheppey.

If like me you believe the Commission’s proposal for no change to Sittingbourne & Sheppey is good for local communities and residents in this constituency, then please make your voice known and respond to their consultation via their website at Previous Boundary Reviews have been changed dramatically from the initial proposals following the weight of public responses. Every submission really does count.

The consultation is open until 5th December 2016, and I would urge you to get your response in early.
