PLAnet Searches for Young Stars

Local MP Gordon Henderson has called for inspirational young people to enter Philip Lawrence Awards.

The Philip Lawrence Awards Network (PLAnet) is looking for groups of young people who have made a difference in their community to enter the 2010 awards.

Mr Henderson said;
“Over the past couple of years I have met many groups young people from Sittingbourne and Sheppey and I am well aware of the positive difference many of them make in our community, whether through volunteering, campaigning, getting involved in positive activities, or helping others.

“I think the time has come for their contribution to our community to be recognised which is why I am urging local residents to nominate young people and give them the chance to win a coveted Philip Lawrence Award and £1000 to invest in continuing their work.”

The closing date for nominations is 15th September 2010.
